What to See at the Colosseum
Don’t miss these highlights during your visit.
The Arena Floor
The reconstructed wooden platform where gladiators fought — entered through the Gate of Death. Looking up at the 48-metre tiers from floor level is the most powerful Colosseum experience available.

The Underground (Hypogeum)
The original 1st-century tunnel network beneath the arena floor — where gladiators waited, animals were caged, and 80 wooden lifts stood ready. Rome’s most atmospheric ancient space.
Know more →
The Roman Forum
Included with all Colosseum tickets. The ancient civic heart of Rome — temples, the Senate house, and Via Sacra across 2 hectares between the Palatine and Capitoline Hills.
Know more →
Palatine Hill
Also included in your ticket. The hilltop birthplace of Rome, covered with imperial palace ruins, offering the finest aerial view over the Roman Forum 40 metres below.
Know more →
The Colosseum Attic
The 4th and 5th levels via panoramic lift — 50 metres above Rome with sweeping views of the Forum, Palatine, and the ancient city. One of the least crowded Colosseum experiences.
Know more →
Arch of Constantine
The triumphal arch between the Colosseum and Palatine Hill — erected in 315 AD, one of the best-preserved ancient arches in the world, free to view and photograph.
